MoMa and Getty in Competition for the Definitive 1970's Collection

The Museum of Modern Art here in New York and the Getty in Los Angeles are in a fierce competition for the definitive collective of 1970's art, so reports ArtInto. The Getty has recently acquired some of the photography of Jo Ann Callis, Philip Jones Griffiths, and Leonard Freed and the papers of acclaimed curator Harald Szeemann. MoMa, in response, has picked up the work of Marcel Broodthaers, On Kawara, Joseph Kosuth, and Robert Smithson.
